With over two decades of global and domestic experience, Toyosi (Ty) Adekoya serves as Managing Partner of OakHeed LLC. She is a multidimensional and highly accomplished human resources leader with extensive experience across management consulting, energy, multilateral and financial services industries. In several roles over her expansive career, Ty has provided strategic integrated solutions to support the execution of initiatives for business and people management.
Ty’s key areas of expertise, demonstrated across global organizations include culture transformation, organization development, diversity, equity & inclusion, strategic planning, business process improvement, talent attraction, talent acquisition, talent management, competency management, Succession Planning, HR technology, learning & development, executive performance management and employee experience.
From start up stage, Ty provided HR leadership to accelerate the growth of a multilateral organization in an emerging market from a $1B balance sheet to a $12B balance sheet. She led the implementation of the talent management strategy, transforming the organization to a high performing, highly engaged and diverse (23+ nationalities, multilingual & 60:40 gender distribution) workforce. This multilateral organization, the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), is now a formidable force in infrastructure financing for Africa.
In General Electric, TY led the implementation of a global learning and development strategy across sub-sahara Africa, deploying both strategic and customized learning solutions to bridge leadership and technical competency gaps in the region. As a management consultant in KPMG, Ty successfully led several engagements that resulted in culture transformation, aligned business and people strategy, engaged workforce, leadership development, optimized business processes, technology integration and seamless mergers and acquisitions. She is also a specialist in both high volume, niche and executive recruitment, following her work experience in Phillips Consulting.
A lifelong learner, Ty received her bachelor’s degree in Demography & Social Statistics from OAU, MBA from Imperial College and Masters in HR from Georgetown University. She holds relevant certifications such as SHRM-SCP, GPHR, PMP. She also holds certifications in occupational testing, leadership development and succession strategy, employment law certificate from Cornell University and an alumni of the HR Strategy in Transforming Organizations program from London Business School.
